Useful before exhaustive
How we research and update the guides
Every guide begins with a real travel decision: where to stay, whether a car helps, which base shortens the day, and what changes with the season.
Official sources establish the facts. The guide then turns those facts into a clear recommendation, with the important trade-off stated beside it.
Our approach
Three promises to the traveller
Clarity
Answer the question early
The short answer comes first. Background detail follows only when it helps you choose.
Local accuracy
Name the place precisely
A lake, town, village and municipality are not treated as the same place when the difference changes your stay.
Freshness
Keep seasonal advice dated
Buses, boats, lifts and shuttles are described with their operating period and linked to the current official page.
What we check
From travel question to reliable answer
| Travel question | What we check first | What still needs a live check |
|---|---|---|
| Where exactly is this base? | Official maps, settlement records and destination pages | The accommodation address and walking route |
| Can I do this trip without a car? | Rail, bus, shuttle and boat operators | The timetable and last return on your date |
| When is the destination busiest? | Comparable official visitor statistics | Weather, opening hours and availability |
| Which base is best for me? | Daily routes, services, setting and season | Your priorities, budget and exact lodging |
When information is uncertain
We say what can change
A seasonal bus is not described as year-round. A municipality total is not presented as a number for one village. A nearby place is not called walkable until the actual route supports it.
Prices, availability, ratings and opening times are left to a live check when no stable current source exists. The aim is confident advice without false precision.
